First up in George Street is the familiar site of a
Lothian Leyland National 2 - these had been
withdrawn but some were reinstated to cover the recent
service changes. As can be seen they retain old blinds,
so Little France has to work for the New Edinburgh Royal
Infirmary display for Service 24. Right
Stagecoach in Fife X54 journeys during the day heading
for the New Edinburgh Royal Infirmary drop passengers off
at George Street/St Andrew Square and then proceed to the
hospital. Here, 52551 is seen in George Street heading
south. This vehicle had its electronic blind replaced by roller blinds
many moons ago. |

It is understood that next month Citylink will
commence operation of First M9 (Stirling- Edinburgh)
express service, getting rid of the service that has a
good number of users, but not all day. The service
started in the hands of one Van Hool and two Iziar bodied
Scanias, with one of the latter sold on and replaced by
Dennis Javelin coach 2209, seen here arriving in
Edinburgh's new bus station. Please note however the M9 runs nowhere
near Westquarter! Right
Citylink services by Stagecoach Fife are ran from
Cowdenbeath garage with ex-National Express vehicles in
the main, like 52307 seen here in Hanover Street/George
Street. |

Following my showing off of some Edinburgh City
Sightseeing and Mac Tours vehicles, the remainder of the four
Lothian-owned tour brands are now being immortalised here. Green/cream
vehicles provide The Edinburgh Tour - a former Guide Friday service. Top
Left Leyland Olympian 46 seen here heading down
Hanover Street. Top Right The Britannia Tour is ran
by AEC Routemasters in an "old gold" and blue livery,
including WLT 371 which is seen here heading down Waverly Bridge.
Bottom Left Edinburgh Tour liveried part-open top (Ex-Lothian
Buses Olympian) Leyland Olympian 312 seen on Waverly Bridge. Bottom
Right Staff shuttle vans are painted to match the buses -
Airlink, City Sightseeing, Mac Tours, Edinburgh Tours etc. including
X265 GBH. |

Left Lothian
Buses Dennis Trident 551 at the Waverley Steps - somewhat unusually on
Service 34 to the Riccarton Campus of Heriot Watt University, via
Longstone. After this proceeded to Livingston town centre to snap up a
few buses, spend some money! - and afterwards cross the Forth back
heading home. Right Purchased in 2002 from Nottingham, E&M
Horsburgh Mercedes 811D N104 WRC is seen at Livingston Bus Terminal
about to depart on the last 424 to Juniper Green, which then runs
light to South Gyle and continues back to Livingston as service 284. |

Left First
Scania 534 was one of those purchased new - with additional luggage
racking - for Diamond Express Services 737 & 757. These ran from
1999 to 2000 providing links from Cairneyhill and Dunfermline to
Edinburgh Airport, and Livingston to Edinburgh Airport. Despite these
routes not lasting long, buses like this one still have the huge
luggage racks - no bad thing unless you need seats! Right
E&M Horsburgh have also recently added some more Optare Solo's -
like this one, YN 03 NDZ - to enable to Linlithgow - Broxburn -
Livingston services (273-276) to be converted to low-floor operation,
joining routes like the 457 over parallel sections of route. Both of
these are seen at Livingston Bus Terminal. |

Two final pics from
Livi before I crossed the (River) Forth on the X90. Left Davidson's
Buses have recently replaced the collection of white vehicles with
ex-Armchair Dennis Dart SLF/Plaxton Pointers. P694 RWU is seen at the
bus terminal. Right First Volvo Olympian 1316 (R416 YMS) is
seen also in Livingston, but working the Glasgow Express Service X15
for a change! |

Right Dunfermline's one pm working on Service X59 can be either a
mini or midibus. Here, Volvo B6 30658 is seen on it. Bottom Left
Citylink coaches also manage onto peak services to/from Edinburgh.
Here, 52306 is seen on the X57 after a day on Citylink. Bottom
Right Cowdenbeath work some journeys on the 55 with MAN single
deckers in addition to the usual mix - including 22277 seen here. |

Two more taken in Fife
on the way home. Left Services 13-13C are subject to change in
the forthcoming August service changes, as Mountfleurie will now be
served by "new" Service 50/51, with the rest of the 13
diverted via Victoria Hospital. Dart 32347 is seen backing off the
stance at Kirkcaldy bus station. Right Two Mercedes Benz 709D
minibuses have recently been acquired from the south coast operations
of Stagecoach. This includes 40689 which is based at Kirkcaldy, seen
here at Cupar Crossgate, but which still proclaims to be the "top
dog in Winchester"... |
